The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization has unveiled its autumn 2025 forecast, revising upwards its projection for the global semiconductor market size in 2025 by around $45 billion. The new estimate stands at $772 billion, marking a year-on-year surge of 22%. Looking ahead, WSTS anticipates that the market will swell further to $975 billion in 2026, boasting a year-on-year growth rate surpassing 25%.

This upward revision is largely attributed to the explosive demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and data centers, which has fueled a boom in the logic chip and memory sectors. Specifically, it is projected that the logic chip market will experience a 37% upswing in 2025, while the memory market is expected to grow by 28%. For 2026, both segments are forecast to witness year-on-year increases exceeding 30%.

Geographically speaking, the Americas and Asia-Pacific regions are poised to be the primary engines propelling market growth from 2025 to 2026. In contrast, the European and Japanese markets are anticipated to exhibit relatively subdued performance.
