Lately, tensions have significantly intensified between Dutch chipmaker Nexperia and its Chinese parent company, Wingtech Technology. This development has sparked widespread concern within the industry regarding the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain.
Wingtech Technology has accused Nexperia of trying to extricate itself from Chinese oversight. According to Wingtech, Nexperia aims to overhaul its supply chain framework, forge a procurement and production network independent of China, and break free from the parent company's grasp. Wingtech Technology has labeled the content of Nexperia Netherlands' open letter as false, claiming it sidesteps responsibility, dodges pertinent issues, and lacks genuine communication.
Wingtech Technology underscored that it has consistently demonstrated goodwill, actively sought dialogue, and put forth fundamental demands. These include reinstating legal control and protecting shareholders' rights. Conversely, Nexperia Netherlands has implemented several disruptive actions. These encompass halting wafer supplies, defaulting on payments, and making defamatory remarks about product quality. Such actions have only served to escalate the chaos within the supply chain.
Wingtech Technology has called on Nexperia Netherlands to confront the issues head-on, cease distorting the facts, address legitimate demands, promptly respond to consultation requests, and work collaboratively to uphold the stability of the industrial chain.
