Intel’s Chief Executive Officer, Lip-Bu Tan, has vehemently refuted rumors suggesting that Wei-Jen Loh, a recently recruited executive, had pilfered confidential information from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Tan emphasized that these allegations were entirely unfounded and underscored Intel's unwavering commitment to respecting intellectual property rights. Wei-Jen Loh, aged 75, retired from TSMC in July of this year. Prior to his retirement, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the company's research and development as well as technological advancement initiatives. On the same day as these rumors surfaced, during an event organized by the Semiconductor Industry Association, TSMC’s co-CEOs, C.C. Wei and Mark Liu, were honored with the prestigious Robert N. Noyce Award. Neither TSMC nor Wei-Jen Loh have issued any statements or responses regarding the ongoing controversy.
