On the evening of November 18, during a financial results conference call, Lu Weibing, the partner and president of Xiaomi Group, responded to the recent substantial surge in storage costs. Lu Weibing mentioned that the cost of memory (storage chips) is likely to see a relatively extended period of upward movement. He highlighted that in the past, memory prices were mainly swayed by the cyclical fluctuations in the mobile phone industry. However, this current price hike is predominantly propelled by the explosive demand for AI-powered HPMs (high-performance mixed-signal chips), setting it apart from previous trends.
