On November 12, during the 12th China (Suzhou) International Summit Forum on the Battery and New Energy Vehicle Industry, Yuan Chengyin, the Secretary-General of the China Automotive Chip Industry Innovation Strategy Alliance, disclosed that the alliance had set up a RISC-V working group in partnership with major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including Dongfeng Motor and Great Wall Motor. This initiative is geared towards advancing the widespread adoption of relevant chips.
Yuan Chengyin highlighted that there are abundant collaboration prospects between the automotive chip sector and the battery industry in this regard. During previous interactions with international automakers, their counterparts also voiced a mutual interest in leveraging RISC-V to develop open-source technologies, anticipating the emergence of more innovative products in the near future.
