Based on the most recent survey conducted by TrendForce, the swift advancement of AI inference technology has fueled a dramatic uptick in the need for immediate access and rapid processing of vast data volumes. This trend is compelling traditional suppliers of both hard disk drives (HDDs) and solid-state drives (SSDs) to ramp up their production of high-capacity storage solutions. Faced with a substantial shortfall in HDD supply, NAND Flash manufacturers are expediting their technological overhauls and channeling investments into the production of ultra-high-capacity nearline SSDs. These SSDs boast capacities of 122TB or even reach up to an impressive 245TB, aiming to cushion against uncertainties in future demand.
