On October 8, Wealth News from Taiwan, China, reported that the price increase for TSMC’s 2nm wafer foundry services fell short of market projections. While initial estimates had suggested a 50% surge, the actual rise amounts to only a 10%–20% premium over 3nm pricing. The latest supply chain updates reveal that TSMC is now quoting around $30,000 (approximately RMB 214,000) per 2nm wafer, marking a 15%–20% increase over the 3nm process average ($25,000–$27,000). Additionally, TSMC has announced plans to implement across-the-board price adjustments for its advanced processes—including 3nm, 4nm, 5nm, and 7nm—next year, with single-digit percentage hikes varying based on customer collaboration scale.
