Recently, the Semiconductor Industry Association disclosed that in August 2025, the global semiconductor sales soared to US$64.9 billion. This marks a significant year-on-year surge of 21.7% and a month-on-month rise of 4.4%, clearly signaling a steady and robust recovery within the industry. The data, meticulously compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics organization, is derived from a three-month moving average.

In terms of regional performance, semiconductor sales in the Americas witnessed a remarkable 25.5% year-on-year increase in August. China, a key player in the global semiconductor market, contributed a substantial 27.2% to the total sales volume and experienced a 12.4% year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, sales in the Asia-Pacific region and other areas climbed by an impressive 43.1% year-on-year. In contrast, Japan encountered a 6.9% decline in sales.

Data released previously for July also showcased rapid growth. Sales in that month reached US$62.1 billion, representing a 20.6% year-on-year increase and a 3.6% month-on-month uptick.
