The era of angstroms is approaching, and TSMC is accelerating its layout for advanced manufacturing processes. According to supply chain sources, Kaohsiung will become the production hub for 2-nanometer chips, with all five planned factory sites (Phase 1~5) of Fab22 dedicated to producing chips in the 2-nanometer family, including the A16 process, which will introduce Backside Power Delivery Network (BSPDN) technology next year. Meanwhile, TSMC is evaluating the addition of a sixth factory site (P6) to introduce the even more advanced A14 (1.4-nanometer) process, with a total investment expected to exceed US$50 billion, marking a full-scale entry into next-generation nodes.
