Recently, drawing inspiration from the realm of graphics card shunt modifications, a PCGH forum user known as HerrBolsch successfully undertook a modification of the RTX 2070 mobile graphics card housed within a Zotac mini PC. This involved the precise soldering of extra resistors onto the graphics card itself, the motherboard's power supply circuitry, and the memory modules. As a result, the power consumption of the mobile graphics card, which originally boasted a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 115W, was elevated to a level that closely mirrors the 175W TDP of its desktop counterpart, the RTX 2070. Rigorous testing has revealed that this modified graphics card now delivers a performance enhancement of roughly 15%, bringing its capabilities tantalizingly close to those of the desktop version.
