Jensen Huang, co-founder and CEO of chip giant NVIDIA, has stated that OpenAI has the potential to emerge as the next global tech behemoth with a market capitalization in the trillions of dollars—and investing in it early could have been "one of the wisest decisions" his company ever made. Huang revealed that during OpenAI's formative years, NVIDIA was unable to invest as heavily as it would have liked due to financial constraints at the time. "We simply didn’t have the capital to make a larger bet," he admitted.

Today, NVIDIA is deepening its collaboration with OpenAI to support the development of its self-built AI infrastructure. The two companies are set to engage in direct, multi-layered cooperation to strengthen their existing partnership. Previously, NVIDIA had already provided indirect support to OpenAI through Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform and Oracle’s cloud infrastructure.

As OpenAI experiences exponential growth in user demand and computational needs, this expanded partnership will offer critical support. OpenAI aims to establish a direct strategic alliance with NVIDIA, akin to those already in place between X (formerly Twitter), Meta, Google, Azure, and NVIDIA—a move that has garnered enthusiastic support from all parties involved.
