On September 29 (Monday), the Dutch government made an announcement: all EU member states have now become part of the Dutch-led chip alliance, which is actively advocating for a revision of the EU Chips Act. Officially known as the 'Semiconductor Alliance', this collaborative initiative was co-founded by the Netherlands and eight other EU member states back in March of this year. The alliance contends that the EU must refine the Chips Act, transforming the overarching goal of achieving a 20% market share into more precise and actionable measures. These measures are aimed at safeguarding the security of pivotal technologies, expediting approval procedures, and enhancing skills development and financial support throughout the entire semiconductor supply chain.
