Huawei's Xu Zhijun: Ascend 950PR Chip Set for Launch in Q1 of Next Year

On September 18, during the Huawei Connect 2025 event, Xu Zhijun, the Rotating Chairman of Huawei, emphasized that computing power has always been, and will remain, the linchpin for the advancement of artificial intelligence. This holds especially true for China's AI landscape. At the gathering, Xu Zhijun unveiled Huawei's upcoming roadmap for its Ascend chip series. He announced that the Ascend 950PR chip is slated for release in the first quarter of 2026. This will be followed by the launch of the Ascend 950DT chip in the fourth quarter of the same year. Further down the line, the Ascend 960 chip is projected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the Ascend 970 chip following suit in the fourth quarter of 2028.
