On September 10, 2025, renowned chip designer ARM took the wraps off its latest-generation chip architecture, named Lumex. This innovative design has been meticulously crafted to excel in offline artificial intelligence tasks on mobile devices. The Lumex architecture comes in four distinct variants, encompassing low-power, high-efficiency models as well as high-performance, maximum-computation-capacity iterations. Notably, the top-tier performance variant empowers high-end smartphones and similar gadgets to execute large-scale artificial intelligence model software independently, without the need for cloud computing support. Furthermore, Lumex has been fine-tuned to fully leverage the capabilities of the 3nm manufacturing process.
