On September 10, 2025, during the ARM UNLOCKED summit, Arm formally introduced its cutting-edge computing subsystem platform, the Lumex CSS. This platform is specifically designed for the next wave of personal computers and smartphones, with a strong emphasis on AI applications.
Leveraging the latest 3nm process technology, the Lumex CSS integrates the C1 Ultra 'super core' and C1 Pro 'big core' processors. Both processors are compatible with the Scalable Matrix Extensions 2 (SME2) instruction set. When compared to its forerunner, the Cortex-X925, the C1 Ultra showcases a remarkable 25% increase in performance. Meanwhile, the C1 Pro outperforms the Cortex-A725 by a notable 12%.
On the graphics processing side, the Mali G1-Ultra GPU marks a milestone by introducing ray tracing support to mobile devices for the first time. This advancement brings about a 20% boost in performance and a 9% improvement in energy efficiency compared to the Immortalis-G925.
By offering a highly integrated hardware and software solution, the Lumex CSS platform substantially elevates AI performance, energy efficiency, and development productivity.
