During the second quarter of 2025, global shipments of OLED panels experienced a 2% year-on-year decline. However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, there was a 5% uptick. To put things in perspective, the first quarter witnessed a 4% year-on-year increase in shipments, but a substantial 16% quarter-on-quarter drop.

When it comes to application areas, OLED panel shipments for monitors and notebooks soared with double-digit year-on-year growth. This surge was fueled by the escalating demand for high-end IT products and a growing preference among OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manufacturers for adopting such panels.

Turning our attention to the manufacturer landscape, the market share of domestically produced OLED panels is on an upward trajectory. Specifically, Samsung Display takes the lead, commanding a 37% market share. BOE maintains a steady position at 15%. Visionox has seen its market share climb to 14%. Meanwhile, LG Display's market share has decreased to 9%, while CSOT's has also reached 9%, showing an increase for the latter.

Overall, although the second quarter saw a slight year-on-year decrease in OLED panel shipments, significant structural shifts have taken place. The demand for smartphones and TVs remains relatively stable, albeit still somewhat sluggish. In contrast, the demand for IT panels has witnessed a substantial increase, emerging as a fresh growth engine. This trend can be attributed to the expansion of high-end applications, a greater number of suppliers getting involved, tariff-related factors, enhanced supply capabilities, and the widespread adoption by OEM manufacturers.
