The European bond market has witnessed a surge, propelled by significant bond issuances from the UK and Italy, setting the stage for a new daily issuance record. According to data, a total of 28 issuers aimed to raise at least €49.6 billion (approximately $57.7 billion) on that particular day, potentially surpassing the previous single-day record of €47.6 billion set earlier this year. This milestone signifies the official commencement of the financing uptick in September, following the summer lull. Despite lingering concerns about the fiscal health of certain countries, the appeal of higher bond yields has attracted a flood of investors, fueling this large-scale issuance.
