Russian media has reported that MAX, a locally developed, cross-platform instant messaging application by VK Internet Company, will be pre-installed on newly sold electronic devices in Russia beginning in September. This app seamlessly integrates national services, digital identities, and AI technology, aiming to establish a comprehensive, multi-functional platform. Users will be able to leverage MAX not only for instant messaging but also for conducting e-government services in the future. The MAX project was first announced in March of this year, with the objective of substituting foreign software and integrating daily activities into a unified system. In June, Russian President Putin endorsed relevant legislation to provide policy backing for the promotion of MAX. This initiative aims to minimize Russia's reliance on international internet IT giants and foster a domestic digital communication ecosystem.
