In the 2025 AtCoder World Tour Finals, held in the vibrant city of Tokyo, a remarkable feat was accomplished. Psyho, a seasoned 42-year-old Polish programmer, emerged victorious by defeating a custom AI model from OpenAI. The prestigious event gathered 12 of the world's top human programmers and a formidable AI opponent. After an intense 10-hour coding marathon, Psyho secured the championship with a commendable lead of approximately 9.5% over the AI, earning a prize of 500,000 yen. The OpenAI model, despite its prowess, had to settle for second place. Notably, Psyho, who had previously contributed to the development of OpenAI Five, relied solely on the basic autocompletion features of Visual Studio Code during the competition.
