The Hurun Research Institute has recently unveiled the 2025 Global Unicorn Index, featuring non-publicly traded companies founded after the year 2000 with a valuation exceeding US$1 billion. Statistics reveal that the global unicorn count has surged to 1,523, setting a new all-time high and marking a 70-company increase from the previous year, equivalent to a growth rate of nearly 5%. The United States tops the list with 758 unicorn companies, closely followed by China with 343. Collectively, these unicorns boast a total valuation of US$5.6 trillion and span diverse sectors including fintech, software services, AI, and beyond.
