In a bid to mitigate data leakage risks, ByteDance has announced an internal ban on third-party AI development tools, including Cursor and Windsurf, effective June 30th. Instead, the company will transition to its proprietary AI programming tool, Trae. Launched in March of this year, Trae boasts support for multiple large models and stands as China's first AI-native integrated development environment (AI IDE). Its overseas version already offers a paid subscription plan. As of now, ByteDance has not issued any further statements regarding this matter.
