During the Build 2025 Developer Conference, Microsoft introduced the NLWeb open-source project, designed to empower developers to seamlessly convert websites into AI-driven applications that facilitate natural language interaction. These applications offer a chat interface akin to ChatGPT, tailored for querying website content. NLWeb harnesses semi-structured data from websites, synergizing with the prowess of large language models to create intuitive natural language interfaces. Furthermore, it introduces a model context protocol, ensuring compatibility with all major operating systems, AI models, and vector databases.
