Jeff Holmes, Microsoft's Vice President, disclosed that an impressive 50% of the code authored by his team in the future will be crafted by AI models powered by OpenAI. This marks a significant increase from the current 20% to 30% share of AI-generated code. Shortly thereafter, as part of Microsoft's extensive layoff plan that impacted 6,000 employees, more than a dozen engineers from Holmes' team were let go.
