The European Commission has today unveiled the "AI Continental Action Plan," a strategic initiative designed to bolster the European Union's AI computing infrastructure. At its heart lies the establishment of five state-of-the-art "AI Superfactories," each outfitted with approximately 100,000 dedicated AI accelerator chips. This ambitious deployment is projected to elevate the training capacity of existing infrastructure by a factor of four. Furthermore, the plan encompasses streamlining AI-related regulations, fostering the development of an interconnected "AI Factory" network, and holistically enhancing the EU's global competitiveness in the realm of artificial intelligence.
