On November 6, Amazon launched a text-based shopping feature through Alexa. This feature helps users search for and compare products, track promotions and price changes, and supports "Alexa for Shopping" in completing purchases on their behalf. The feature is currently being rolled out to a small number of invited U.S. users and is expected to expand in the coming weeks. The launch comes after Amazon recently blocked Meta's AI shopping agent Muse from accessing its e-commerce platform. In addition, Amazon won a court ruling in March this year to bar Perplexity's shopping agent Comet from accessing its platform, but a U.S. appeals court overturned the injunction in August, and the related litigation is still ongoing.
