On November 6, a Nomura Securities analyst team led by Cindy Park released a report stating that South Korea's KOSPI index is currently in oversold territory. The report noted that, dragged down by rising interest rates, elevated oil prices, and other risk factors, Korean equities have fallen more sharply than other major global markets. Since August, the KOSPI has dropped 18% and is currently hovering near 5,400 points. Nomura set a three-month target range of 7,500 to 8,000 points to reflect macroeconomic and AI-related risks, while maintaining its long-term target of 10,000 points unchanged. Analysts believe that AI investment, expanded corporate buybacks, and market reform measures aimed at enhancing corporate value could become catalysts driving Korean stocks higher.
