At the 2026 ESMO Annual Meeting, the personalized neoantigen mRNA therapeutic cancer vaccine jointly developed by Moderna and Merck presented positive Phase III results, marking the first clinical validation of this therapeutic class and propelling the therapeutic cancer vaccine field into a new stage of development. Everest Medicines convened an R&D Day for its mRNA technology platform, where industry experts discussed the clinical value and technological pathways in this field. They noted that therapeutic cancer vaccines represent a novel treatment modality distinct from traditional anti-tumor drugs, better suited to settings such as high postoperative recurrence risk, and that their development requires support from end-to-end systemic capabilities spanning antigen discovery, delivery, and manufacturing. Everest Medicines has been building its mRNA footprint since 2021, and over five years has accumulated and established an AI+mRNA/LNP end-to-end self-developed platform. The company has laid out multiple differentiated pipelines, including personalized neoantigen vaccines, universal tumor-associated antigen vaccines, immunomodulatory vaccines, and in vivo CAR-T, with some programs having already disclosed early positive clinical data. Next, it will advance global clinical filings for multiple pipelines and optimize its automated modular manufacturing system, leveraging China's comprehensive clinical and industrial advantages in a bid to join the global first tier of mRNA.
