He added that India also has the most ChatGPT student users globally, making it ChatGPT's largest consumer market worldwide. Previously, OpenAI disclosed that India's weekly active users exceeded 100 million in February this year, making it the second-largest market after the US at the time. OpenAI has adopted a low-price strategy in India: in August 2025, it launched the ChatGPT Go plan at a monthly fee of less than $5, and announced that Indian users who sign up from November 4, 2025 can use it free for one year.
