After Alibaba Cloud announced the full delisting of virtual digital humans, Dream Dimension platform's AI anchor Ziying achieved a breakthrough with a 48-hour "infinite restart" real-time interactive livestream, generating cumulative revenue of 42,000 yuan. The livestream was jointly launched by Dream Dimension and technology provider Shengshu Technology. The former used the event to push its platform beyond its niche audience, while the latter completed the first real-world test of its new model, Vidu S2. Together, the two parties validated the traffic monetization potential of AI idols. Currently, players in the AI digital human space fall into four categories: technology infrastructure providers, e-commerce platforms building their own tools, independent technical service providers, and AI idol and IP operators. The market scale is considerable, with monetization paths including livestream tipping, product endorsements, brand advertising, paid companionship, and more. However, most ordinary digital humans remain "tool figures" with preset content, and homogeneous competition in the space is severe. Leading manufacturers face the dilemma of rising revenue without rising profit. At the same time, AI anchors face clear regulatory compliance requirements, and mainstream content e-commerce platforms largely impose restrictions on purely AI-driven virtual human livestreams. Ziying's success is a special case supported by a unique combination of conditions and has yet to become a universally applicable commercial template for the industry. Competition in the space is shifting from a contest of technology to a deeper exploration of users' willingness to pay.
