South Korea's SK Telecom announced on Wednesday that its third-quarter operating profit soared 1,041.3% year-on-year, while net profit swung from a loss to a profit. For the July-to-September period, operating profit reached 552.3 billion won (approximately US$411.4 million), and revenue rose 13.1% year-on-year to 4.49 trillion won. Net profit came in at 411.8 billion won, compared with a loss of 166.7 billion won in the same period last year. The company attributed the improved performance to a combination of steady growth in its core mobile services and the rise of new AI-related businesses. Specifically, sales from AI data centers grew 6.2% year-on-year, while sales from other AI-related businesses climbed 27.3% year-on-year.
