On October 29, the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit convened in Shenzhen. Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent Group and CEO of the Cloud and Smart Industries Group, highlighted in his keynote speech that, based on data from pertinent government departments, China's daily token consumption has skyrocketed from 100 billion at the start of 2024 to surpassing 500 trillion by July, representing a staggering increase of over 5,000 times in just two years. He emphasized that this remarkable growth underscores the swift evolution of AI applications, with AI emerging as a novel force driving productivity. AI agents, exemplified by Tencent's Workbuddy, are not only instrumental in day-to-day document collaboration but are also swiftly being integrated into specialized domains such as business analysis, operations, market research, marketing strategy, and execution. The utilization of AI tools by employees to boost efficiency has become an indispensable strategy, and companies must harness AI to make more informed decisions and execute swiftly to bolster their competitive edge in the market; failure to do so risks obsolescence.
