On October 28th, Douyin issued an announcement concerning the regulation of malicious marketing accounts that were found to be abusing AI technology. Over the past month, leveraging account health score rules, the platform has removed a cumulative total of 1.135 million short videos that breached regulations. It has also penalized 507,000 accounts that were involved in such violations, where “violation” is used as an adjective to describe the nature of these accounts, and a structure translating it as an attributive clause would be more natural in this context. Additionally, the platform guided 302,000 accounts to produce content that adheres to the established standards. Moving forward, Douyin will ramp up its efforts to clamp down on malicious marketing practices involving the misuse of AI, tracking down and taking action against black-market tools and instructional organizations. Meanwhile, users are encouraged to report any suspicious activities through the designated reporting channels to collectively foster a healthy online environment.
