As reported by Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's financial regulatory body announced that a number of prominent financial investment firms fell victim to a significant cyberattack on Tuesday. Lee Chan-jin, the leader of the Financial Supervisory Service, highlighted that the hacking incidents were widespread across several key financial investment entities. He strongly encouraged these firms to bolster their information security measures. Lee also emphasized that the growing utilization of AI as a hacking tool has simplified the process for attackers to exploit security weaknesses, thereby heightening the likelihood that coordinated attacks will become a common occurrence.
