On October 28, it was reported that the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the largest bank in Canada, is taking measures to block third-party artificial intelligence agents, such as Meta's Muse, from accessing its banking systems. The bank believes that such technologies pose unacceptable customer risks. According to an internal memo, the bank sent a notice of policy adjustment to all employees on Tuesday. This decision was made after a comprehensive security review of the relevant technologies and aligns with the company's guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The bank stated that allowing such agents to access its banking systems could pose customer risks, including acting beyond customer expectations or exposing customers to legal liability. Last week, RBC CEO Dave McKay had already revealed that the bank was considering blocking Muse from accessing customer information.
