Torsten Slok, Chief Economist at Apollo Global Management, recently released a report indicating that the actual impact of the so-called 'AI revolution' is far narrower than what has been promoted. Data shows that AI's contribution to the macroeconomy remains quite limited at present, which may signal that financial trends and the direction of the global economy are entering a stage worthy of attention. By comparing the financial performance of the 'Magnificent Seven' within the S&P 500 with the other 493 companies, Slok found that only a few tech giants have seen increases in per-capita revenue and profit margins, while most companies have not shown significant improvement. Furthermore, overall U.S. economic productivity has not displayed clear signs of AI-driven growth.
