On October 26, according to a report by Business Insider, Amy Coleman, Microsoft's Chief People Officer, announced in a memo sent to employees on Monday that the company will introduce a voluntary separation compensation package. Coleman stated that the program aims to enhance the company's flexibility and provide employees with more opportunities to autonomously plan their careers. This is a new initiative by Microsoft to avoid forced layoffs and streamline its workforce. This year, while heavily investing in artificial intelligence infrastructure, Microsoft has also been reducing its employee numbers. Now, the company is offering separation opportunities to current employees to further cut costs. A Microsoft spokesperson said that approximately 60,000 employees are eligible to participate, with terms similar to Microsoft's standard separation compensation package.
