While the majority of AI chatbots refrain from directly advising users on which candidate to vote for, the underlying models that drive them sometimes present distinct preferences. A recent study reveals that during this year's U.S. midterm elections, SpaceXAI's Grok 4.7 model recommended Republican candidates in 92% of its generated responses. In contrast, OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Sol model opted for Democratic candidates in 97% of its responses. Across nearly 500 simulated election scenarios, the two models converged on the same candidate choice less than 10% of the time.
