On October 26, Pathfinder's official WeChat account unveiled that its subsidiary, Shanghai Tongtu Semiconductor, has recently inked a strategic cooperation pact alongside specialized contracts for AI FRC (Frame Rate Control) and data compression with a domestic frontrunner in the realm of edge AI chips tailored for large-scale model inference. The collaboration will see both entities working hand in hand to advance mobile graphics acceleration and edge AI technologies, with a shared vision to elevate the GPU performance efficiency in high-end smartphones. By harnessing Tongtu's comprehensive AI compression technology, this partnership is poised to slash bandwidth and storage demands by more than 4.5-fold, elevate mobile gaming frame rates from 60Hz to a staggering 240Hz, and concurrently achieve reduced latency and power consumption.
