On October 26, data from FactSet showed that approximately 36% of the companies in the S&P 500 index, totaling 179, will announce their quarterly earnings this week. These include giants such as Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft, on which the rise of the S&P 500 index has been relying. However, investors currently face numerous concerns, including the sustainability of artificial intelligence trading, high gasoline prices, and volatility in the bond market. Although FactSet reported on Friday that analysts still expect overall profits for companies in the benchmark index to surge by 29.5% in the third quarter, investors have narrowed the margin of error for companies, leaving even those that outperform Wall Street expectations vulnerable.
