The 'Large Model Token Service Performance Monitoring Report (2026)' issued by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology reveals that the token service market is witnessing a concurrent surge in both trading volume and prices. Specifically, domestic token prices have soared to twice their levels in the latter half of the previous year, while the volume of usage has ballooned threefold. In June 2026, the average daily consumption of domestic tokens hit around 500 trillion, marking a nearly fourfold increase from December 2025.
The backdrop to this report is the growing trend of Model as a Service (MaaS) platform providers offering large model token services via public cloud APIs. However, users often find it challenging to make intuitive judgments about token service performance, thus struggling to choose the most suitable option.
Following two years of intense price competition, model service prices, both domestically and internationally, witnessed a notable uptick in 2026. The normalized average price climbed from 6.8 yuan in the second half of 2025 to 13.46 yuan, effectively doubling. Despite this increase, prices abroad continue to outpace domestic rates, with the average normalized price of typical models launched in 2026 reaching approximately 117.8 yuan.
