On October 22, news emerged that the China Meteorological Administration had recently launched an innovative artificial intelligence-driven solar radiation forecasting model, dubbed the Wind Source - Radiation Perception and Forecasting Model. This pioneering model stands as China's inaugural end-to-end AI forecasting system, seamlessly amalgamating geostationary satellite data with ground-based, minute-by-minute radiation observation networks. It facilitates real-time surveillance and ultra-short-term prognostication of solar radiation at ground stations and grid points nationwide, thereby offering robust technical backing for the ultra-short-term prediction of photovoltaic power generation.
