Liman Biomedicine (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. is dedicated to generating high-throughput cell editing and perturbation sample data, with the ambition to emerge as a pivotal data infrastructure provider for the artificial intelligence virtual cell sector's upstream. This October, the company triumphantly concluded an angel round of funding, raising tens of millions of yuan. The round was spearheaded by Shanghai Honghui, with contributions from Xinghua Dingli and Hangzhou Runmiao Fund, and Chuanyue Cycle acting as the financial consultant.

Post-funding, Liman is set to intensify its high-throughput cell editing services, integrate automated equipment for data production, and roll out standardized cell line products. These initiatives will offer unwavering support to virtual cell enterprises and innovative pharmaceutical firms, propelling the integration of virtual cell technology in drug discovery.

Presently, the Liman team has constructed and verified a perturbation array library encompassing 19,883 human genes. Leveraging in-house reagents and an automated platform, they have slashed unit editing expenses and shortened delivery times, fostering the widespread adoption of array-based gene perturbation libraries.

In September 2026, Liman unveiled the extensive gene perturbation transcriptome dataset ELEM-1200RS. Within a fortnight of its open-source release, it garnered applications from over 300 virtual cell R&D teams globally, sparking an enthusiastic response.

Currently, the team is making strides with the quantitative proteomics dataset ELEM-600PR, focusing on around 600 gene and drug dual perturbation samples. Additionally, they offer bespoke and proprietary gene and drug perturbation dataset services tailored to corporate clients and research institutions.

Through strategic optimizations like whole-genome library buildup, in-house core reagent production, and laboratory automation, Liman persistently cuts production costs. This enables the repeatable supply of standardized products, catering to the future needs for preparing and generating data from ultra-large-scale multi-gene perturbation samples.

Investors are bullish on Liman's technological prowess and team expertise, acknowledging its potential to alleviate the scarcity of high-quality perturbation data in the virtual cell industry's upstream. They are committed to backing its growth, collectively advancing the industrialization of artificial intelligence virtual cell technology, and empowering innovative drug development from its inception.
