Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (FFAI), under the leadership of Jia Yueting, has unveiled its latest innovation—the compact humanoid robot, FF Nova. The base model of this cutting-edge robot is priced at $2490, with an additional developer skill package available for $390. FF Nova stands out as the first entry-level embodied AI humanoid robot in the United States to be priced below $2500. It is designed as a portable Physical AI experimental platform, compact enough to fit into a backpack.
The primary target audience for FF Nova includes developers, creators, as well as universities, research institutions, and educational organizations. This versatile robot is equipped with a comprehensive array of sensing devices and boasts 20 degrees of freedom throughout its body, allowing for a wide range of actions and two distinct modes of movement. Integrated with a sophisticated large language model, FF Nova can function as an execution carrier for cloud-based intelligent agents in the physical world, bridging the gap between digital and physical realms.
In terms of its development ecosystem, FF Nova offers robust support, including an open Software Development Kit (SDK). The company also plans to establish a Sim2Real reinforcement learning pipeline, further enhancing the robot's capabilities. Additionally, FF Nova will feature a skill store and a vibrant developer community, fostering collaboration and innovation among users. Currently, FF Nova has initiated online applications and is adopting an invitation-based limited sales strategy. The market release will be carried out in three phases, with the first batch of 20 units set for immediate delivery.
