Musk: SpaceX May Follow Anthropic's Lead in Initiating External Safety Evaluations

On October 15 local time, Anthropic announced that last month, the company committed to conducting more rigorous independent third-party evaluations of its own models and safety practices. It has now begun providing nonprofit organization METR, which evaluates cutting-edge AI models, with access similar to that of internal employees. METR will subsequently release the risk assessment results. Anthropic also stated that the company is advancing several other evaluation collaborations. On the same day, Musk stated on the social media platform X that SpaceX may adopt a similar approach.
