On October 15, Germany's Handelsblatt, drawing on insights from well-informed sources, revealed that the German federal government is gearing up for a significant collaboration with NVIDIA, the renowned U.S. chip design company. This initiative aims to foster the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence within the industrial sector and to secure a commanding position in the fierce global competition for AI technology.

The collaboration blueprint is anchored in two primary goals. Firstly, it seeks to establish a robust foundation for the application of physical AI, which holds immense potential for training robots and autonomous vehicles. Secondly, it aspires to cultivate high-performance industrial AI models that can compete on an international scale.

To propel this ambitious project forward, the German federal government is prepared to invest hundreds of millions of euros. These funds will be strategically allocated to acquire computing power and to train cutting-edge AI models. NVIDIA, in turn, is anticipated to extend its support by dispatching engineers to participate in the endeavor.

Around a dozen German companies are poised to join forces in this collaboration, including industry giants like Siemens and Audi, as well as the AI-focused enterprise Black Forest Labs.
