California-based company Atomic Canyon has teamed up with nuclear industry organizations to launch NIVA, an AI assistant for nuclear reactor operations, which is now available to all 94 nuclear reactors in the United States. Another nuclear energy AI startup, Nuclearn, has served more than 65 U.S. partners, including traditional nuclear power plants and advanced small nuclear reactor development companies. The company's head stated that AI is an ideal tool to address challenges in the nuclear industry, such as cumbersome regulatory processes and complex operation and maintenance management systems. Its AI products can assist nuclear power plants in efficiently searching databases, quickly submitting compliance documents, and querying solutions to past problems, earning it the reputation as the 'ChatGPT of the nuclear energy field.'
