Data released by the Ministry of Commerce reveals that during this year's National Day holiday period, the sales of embodied intelligent robots on major platforms witnessed a remarkable year-on-year surge of 1.3 times. This follows a significant 95.1% year-on-year increase recorded in July. The sustained growth in consumer demand has, for the first time, confirmed the genuine market need for embodied intelligent robots. This development is set to trigger a paradigm shift in the investment rationale for the humanoid robot sector in 2026—transitioning from theme-driven investments centered on technological and supply chain expectations to commercially-oriented investments that prioritize commercialization and market acceptance.
At present, the industry is still in its nascent stages, with complete machine products yet to be fully developed. Leading the charge are robot products designed for specific tasks and standardized scenarios. For a substantial number of companies, the revenue generated from their robotics divisions remains minuscule. The industry is now shifting its focus from engineering hurdles to economic considerations, paving the way for mass production on a scale of tens of thousands of units. Consequently, the evaluation criteria within the capital market are also set to evolve, shifting away from an emphasis on '0 to 1' breakthroughs, such as technological advancements, to a focus on batch delivery capabilities, tangible revenue streams, and profitability. As a result, stocks within the sector will experience differentiation, with the ultimate victors being those companies that can successfully drive sales, secure repeat business, and generate profits through economies of scale.
