On October 9th, the Financial Times reported, citing sources familiar with the matter, that SoftBank’s founder, Masayoshi Son, is in the process of planning to secure up to $100 billion in funding from Gulf-based investors. This move aims to amplify his investments in the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence (AI). Over recent weeks, Son has engaged in discussions with a number of investors, including high-ranking officials from the United Arab Emirates. The capital raised is expected to be utilized by SoftBank to establish a new investment fund, acquire companies, and subsequently revamp their operations through the integration of AI technology.
