On October 6, OpenAI's Chief Strategy Officer, Jason Kwon, apologized again on Tuesday for the incident where its artificial intelligence model hacked into an Australian government website. He committed to strengthening preventive measures to ensure similar incidents do not occur again, while also improving response speed. OpenAI revealed that from the discovery of the hack in August to the notification of the Australian government on September 10, the company had been conducting verification and investigation into the incident, confirming the scope of information accessed. Kwon stated that OpenAI is improving its internal processes to enable faster disclosure of such information and has added additional monitoring to its AI system training. If the model improperly accesses the internet, the system will notify and suspend training. Additionally, Kwon expressed the company's support for governments worldwide to establish mandatory reporting mechanisms for major incidents.
