Doubao is making significant strides in developing its personal assistant product. According to reports, following on from Doubao's mobile assistant strategy focused on personal agent functionalities from the previous year, the company commenced internal testing of a related product in April of this year, initially codenamed 'Spell'. This project is being spearheaded by the Doubao mobile assistant team. However, its official public release has been postponed, partly due to the launch of the Doubao mobile phone.
In light of the increasing interest in similar products overseas, Doubao is expediting the rollout of its personal agent features. The company intends to seamlessly integrate the Spell project into the broader Doubao product ecosystem. The new offering will be co-managed by the Spell project team and the Doubao conversation team, with expectations for a relatively swift public debut.
